Artificial Intelligence and Fraud Detection / Fraud Management

By the technological development ever more areas of daily life are pervaded by computers, for example mobile digital telecommunication systems, trade in the Internet (e-commerce) or on-line banking.

Due to their complexity it is very expensive to proof that computer systems fulfill their safety requirements. So criminals may discover safety gaps and use them to turn services off (denial-of-service), to steal data or to defraud somebody. For example, money is laundered with digital money transfer systems.

If a technical system is abused, methods are needed to detect this. Fraud Detection is concerned with the detection of fraud cases from logged data of system and user behaviour. Fraud Management goes one step further and includes preventive measures and pursuit steps.
